Art Yard Makers Studio

A permanent area of the hotel, dedicated to all things craft. Art Yard Studio is a creative space that provides a home to emerging artists, located next to our restaurant Art Yard Bar & Kitchen, guests and passers-by are encouraged to pop in and watch artists practice their creative expertise.

A home to emerging artists

The studio is run in collaboration with Contemporary Collective, who champion up-and-coming creatives, to bring an ever-changing programme of makers in residence. Residencies are typically two months, during which time the artists use the space to develop their creative process, showcase their work, as well as hosting a range of workshops.

Art Yard Maker’s Studio has an open-house policy, so if you‘re visiting our neighbourhood’s major art galleries, Southbank Centre, Tate Modern or Hayward Gallery why not stop by to see an artist at work.

Current Art Residency: Unframed Futures

Bankside Hotel and Contemporary Collective are delighted to collaborate with the Artists Futures Fund for this October’s residency, Unframed Futures. The Artists Futures Fund champions emerging artists who face socio-economic or health-related barriers, offering them vital support to grow both creatively and professionally. This month, artists Dale Hardy, Lauren Pitson, Lily Rees, Mia Roberts, and Niamh Tamwill take up residence in the studio—showcasing their work and engaging meaningfully with the vibrant Bankside community.

Unframed Futures is open from 10th–30th October 2025.
