Please join the Contemporary Collective team and our next Maker in Residence, Rod McIntosh, on Wednesday 13th November, 6:30-8:30pm for an intimate 'Meet the Artist' evening event at the Bankside Hotel's studio space.
Rod McIntosh, who will be the Maker in Residence at Bankside Hotel's studio from the beginning of November, will talk about the unique experience of working from the Bankside Hotel studio, the artwork he has produced, answer questions about his practice and share with guests how he is influenced by many factors including meditation, mindfulness and the traditional drawing.
Process is central within the painting practice of Rod McIntosh. His mark making has a fluidity and honesty that reveals itself through a muted pallet of monotones. This lends the work a striking and minimal appearance, which coalesces with the quiet sensitivity to his materials, time invested and action. He speaks of them as: “Physical meditations, that offers himself, and the viewer, a moment to pause.”
* Upon arrival, please go to the hotel reception and you will be escorted to the artist's studio.
